Exaust emmision test

The term exhaust emission test summarizes the measurement and analysis of motor vehicles on an air-conditioned four-wheel chassis dynamometer.

Within this Test selected exhaust emissions (mainly CO, HC, NOx and CO2) can be detected and the fuel consumption determined. In addition the electric energy consumption can be measured and an energy balance can be created concerning electrified vehicles.

Exhaust emission tests are offered for two wheelers, three wheelers, passenger cars and light duty vehicles. In this connection, a measurement is possible analogous to the respectively valid law or according to individual customer requirements.

The temperature of the chassis dynamometer can be adjusted between -32 and +50 ° C to assess the influence of ambient temperature on the emission behaviour. Effects of sun exposure on the energy needs of the interior air conditioning are examined by a sun simulation using IR emitters.

The determination of the driving resistance is also offered, which is required to operate a motor vehicle in a test mode similar to road use.

In addition to the research and development tasks exhaust assessments are undertaken for type approval or individual approval on the air-conditioned four-wheel chassis dynamometer and consumption measuring will be carried out on behalf of the Austrian courts.
