Vehicle analysis and optimisation

Due to the high number of influencing factors the optimization of hybrid electric vehicles offers great potential for increasing efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and emissions (see Figure 1). The high amount on computing time required for the calculation of a simulation model in typical driving cycles and the higher degree of freedom make it necessary to use heuristic methods that provide the best possible solutions in acceptable calculation times. For this reason, optimization software (see Figure 2) has been developed in cooperation with the Institute of Computer Graphics and Due to the high number of influencing factors the optimization of hybrid electric vehicles offers great potential for increasing efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and emissions (see Figure 1). For this reason, optimization software (see Figure 2) has been developed in cooperation with the Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms at the Vienna University of Technology, which is continuously adapted and extended to current problems. Currently this software is used for optimizing the operating strategy of a mild hybrid and range extender powertrain.
